Most of my life is in boxes right now, so I thought I'd do some throw back stuff.  This is a quilt I did for the SAQA show, Floridian Flavors. I call this one Conch Chowder and Key Lime Pie.  I started out as an art quilter. I also paint and work in collage, so it was an easy transition. But I became more and more enamoured with traditional quilt design. And the history of quilting.  I have since said goodbye to SAQA and am now saying goodbye to Florida. I feel sad about it. I have lived here most of my life. Since I was 9 years old.  We took a trip to Matanzas yesterday to have a little fun and get away from packing. The ocean is already starting to kick up due to seasonal Atlantic storms. Great wave riding day. Our last beach day for a long time. The thing I will miss most is the ocean. We'll be land locked in Colquitt county. The first time in my life I will not be living near the ocean.  We're already talking about spending a few days in Fernand
